Champalou estate has been established in Vouvray in 1984 by Didier and Catherine. While Didier takes care of the vineyards, Catherine oversees the cellar. They are among the leading producers in the town producing stunning wines which are harmonious, restrained and a true reflection of the terroir. 

This particular sparkling Chenin Blanc is made in the Methode Traditionelle; once alcoholic fermentation has taken place the wine is left over winter on the lees. In the following spring it is bottled with a dose of unfermented grape juice which produces the 2nd fermentation. The wine is then left in the bottle for a minimum of 12 months before release.

Tasting: A pale straw in colour with excellent bubble formation. Floral and aromatic on the nose with notes of peach, melon and sweet hay. The palate is honeyed and round with excellent acidity and a long finish. Try with a seafood risotto, Gateau de Pithiviers (feuillette with almond filling), or a simple bowl of strawberries.
